Thanks to Gurmeet Singh of Unilever for these very promising results from 9 of the Tea Studio's in the lab.
The units are % weight of catechin/weight of tea leaf dry weight.
The ISO method was used for analysis.
The sample prep included:
- finely grinding tea (< 0.5mm)
- representative sample of ground tea (0.2g)
C) 70% methanol°- exhaustive double extraction with hot (70
- extracted sample in stop mix to prevent oxidationof catechins
- analysis by HPLC
